  • History

Leisure activities vary greatly among different provinces, countries or continents in which they take place. Because of this, people who are used to participating in certain leisure activities and try to implement those in foreign countries may sometimes encounter a different reality leading to adaptation and integration issues.

Possibly due to the ignorance of local norms, humans may, in their desire to behave in a natural manner to their homeland, forget that by doing so, they may be breaking the rules of the country in which they find themselves.

Evidently, leisure and some of its derivatives, such as playing games and practicing sports, display a universal language, but the latter can be distorted when in combination with certain aspects that can be harmful for coexistence. This is the case of sporting activities that take place in public spaces in which street vending or alcohol consumption also occur, along with the consequences that this entails.

In social contexts in which immigrants often feel uneasy or rejected, local folk also fail to adapt to the growing body of people coming from different cultures. The lack of adaptation is, therefore, mutual. Certain communities, including immigrants as well as locals, show little social interest and little will to participate in topics and learning tasks unfamiliar to their reality and culture. The relationships and communication between several national coexisting communities is scarce. There is a lack of coexistence in towns, leading to a mutual ignorance that makes it hard to live together.

  • Description

Taking into account all of the above, GUREAISIA is a project arising from the existing need to manage and coordinate public spaces in an organized and sustainable manner, as well as to avoid and prevent the aforementioned negative consequences.

  • Objectives:
